Balsamic Honey Glazed Chicken Drums & Thighs

Balsamic Honey Glazed Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1.5 kg of Chicken Drums & Thighs
  • 1/4 cup of Olive Oil
  • 2/3 cup of Balsamic Vinegar
  • 4 Tbsp Pure Honey
  • 1 Tbsp of Garlic and Ginger paste
  • 1 Tbsp of Sesame Seeds
  • 1 Tbsp of Black Sesame Seeds

Directions

  1. Pre-mix all the ingredients together (besides the chicken) and mix well. Add the defrosted chicken drums and thighs. Marinate in the refrigerator for 2 hours, covered. If you aren’t able to marinate ahead of time, you don’t need to worry – it’ll be just as tasty! Preheat the oven to 180 degrees celsius. Once the oven has reached 180 degrees you can add the marinated chicken to a baking dish and place in the oven – do not add all the sauce just yet – we’ll be coating the chicken systematically throughout the cooking process.
  2. After 15mins in the oven, you may add the 1st coating of the sauce – baste well.
  3. After another 15mins you can add the next coat and allow the chicken to cook for the last 15mins. While the chicken is cooking its last 15mins in the oven. Place the remaining sauce in a small pot and reduce on med-high heat, stirring regularly. You want the sauce to coat the back of a spoon.
  4. Remove the chicken from the oven and pour the thickened sauce over the chicken.
  5. Before serving you may remove the chicken from the baking dish into a serving dish. Pour the remaining sauce into a pourer and your guests can pour this luscious sweet and tangy sauce over their chicken as well as the rest of the components (salad/potatoes/veggies etc.) – yes, it’s pretty much good on anything.
