Herbed Easy Sauce Fresh

This herbed sauce is beautifully fragrant, bright, and refreshing to the palate, especially when it’s paired with a protein of some sort. The acidity from the lemon cuts through the fattiness when served with a steak for example and brings great balance to the dish. I made this with what I had in the fridge so it’s a little bit of a chimichurri, chermoula, and pesto in one!

Herbed Sauce

  • Servings: 1 cup
  • Difficulty: Easy

  • 1/4 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves of garlic, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp of basil pesto, as per your preference
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 1 cup of fresh coriander, stems included and finely chopped
  • Pinch of salt


  1. Sate the garlic, olive oil, and rosemary until the garlic turns golden brown.
  2. Add the garlic mixture to a medium-sized bowl or your Paste & Morte.
  3. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Keep chilled until you’re ready to serve.
